OUR COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT
Waterloo® is committed to reducing our impact on the environment.
We employ the philosophy of reduce, re-use and recycle in all our business practices.
Manufacturing:
· Customized partitioning systems developed for best optimization in commercial board sheet sizes.
· Use and recommend Laminex® GreenfirstTM products that have low formaldehyde and VOC emissions.
· Ongoing product developments to utilize off cuts rather than becoming landfill – creating a whole new range of products, for example slat seating.
· Timing switches applied to all internal factory lighting and full length skylights fitted to reduce energy consumption.
Transport:
· Sawdust waste is properly bagged for transport to minimize the possibilities of escaping into the environment.
· Production planning based on machinery being utilized to minimize downtimes and sitting idle consuming unnecessary energy.
· All metal off cuts recycled on a continuous basis.
· All packaging where possible is manufactured from recycled board products.
· Packing of goods doubles the transport capacities for our own trucks and subsequent transport companies.
· Waterloo encourages customers to return packaging materials for further use.
· Majority of our transport fleet now Hybrid and diesel vehicles.
· Paper/printer cartridge re-cycling and double sided printing on paper.
· Paper use minimisation (eg email quotes/electronic storage).
· Power reduction.
